Me

It can be hard as the main photographer in the family to get photos of yourself and scrapping about you can feel a little vain, however, we have to remember that it's just as important to document who we are as it is to document the rest of the family.  Even more so when you have no kids.

People think it's odd that I like to create scrapbooks when I have no children to pass them on to, however, I don't scrapbook to pass on my memories, I scrapbook so that when I'm old, I can look back and see how far I came, things we achieved, how Mark and I grew up together and grew old together.  I have a shockingly bad memory due to health issues and worry that I won't be able to remember my past as I get older so this is especially important to me.

Fresh Cup Of Happiness

Hi crafty peeps, today I bring you another process video!  Yes I am really getting into this whole video thing, it's quite fun and I've always loved learning new things.

The scrapbook page today is made with the Barista collection by basic Grey, I am determined I will kill this collection this week lol!  I only have a few 6 x 6 papers left and some stickers so it is possible :)

The photo is of a latte my hubby made for me, we are huge coffee addicts lol!  And I loved the way the coffee and milk had created layers in the latte cup, it was so pretty.  I just wanted to document that and it gave me an excuse to use up all those coffee related items I have been hoarding lol!

I had fun pulling out some old Bo Bunny stamps to stamp the background, I used the Stained Textures set.  With distress inks in Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs, I added in some flair from A Flair For Buttons and some wooden hearts from Ebay.  I love the way this page came together, it was so quick and was finished in about 30 mins.

Here is the video

Nommy Nandos Scrapbook Layout

Hi guys and gals, I have another scrapbook layout today for you :)

I received my May Like Forever kit this week, the kit is called Live Out Loud and it's certainly loud in it's colour selection!    The kit is gorgeous, and I love that it's a UK kit as getting the kits and product from the US is getting ridiculously expensive.

On to to today's layout, there is a process video for this layout here.

I chose the gorgeous Amy Tan Milk And Honey paper from the Better Together collection as my starting point, I must admit I am not an Amy Tan fan but I adore this paper and was going to order some, so I was thrilled when we got some in the kit.  The photo is from last August when we went out for my sisters birthday to Nandos, we don't get to see each other as often as we should so it was lovely to get to spend time with her and her hubby. This was a simple layout, it didn't take long at all and I love the finished result.

Supplies
From the kit
Amy Tan Better Together collection Milk and Honey Paper
American Crafts Salmon cardstock
Pink Paislee Fancy Free Collection Buttons
Elle Studio Little Moments Ephemera
Pink Paislee Paige Evans No01 Paper

Free Spirit Scrapbook Layouts

Hi crafty friends, well I let time get in the way again and I've been super busy with work, life etc.  Illness and injury have waylaid me the last couple of months which has not been fun but I'm on the mend finally :)

I subscribed to a scrapbook kit from Like Forever and I've been really enjoying playing with collections and papers I would never have bought because I thought they were too pink and girly, but somehow I've been making them work for me and actually loving all the pinkness lol!

The latest kit was all about Cocoa Vanilla's gorgeous Free Spirit collection.  It's full of beautiful pinks, peachs, navys and aquas.  Pretty florals, watercolour scripts and a lush aqua woodgrain which has to be one of my favs.

I've been busy making scrapbook layouts using the kit, I am determined this year I am going to get at least 2 years worth of photos scrapped and into albums.  I've already got all of last years photos printed as well as the majority of 2014 and I'm on a roll.

I apologise right now for the exorbitant amount of layouts I will be posting of my gorgeous puppy :)  I just can't help taking photos of his uber cuteness!

Here are the layouts with the Free Spirit kit so far

Tranquil Beauty

Layout of a beautiful pastoral scene my hubby photographed on one of our walks up in the Lake District last year. The horse was stunning, so beautiful, in a gorgeous wild setting, surrounded by sheep and lambs. I used the Cocoa Vanilla Free Spirit collection, die cut the title on my Cricut and die cut the butterfly from water colour paper on my Cameo, and coloured it with gelatos. The background was coloured with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Coral, TH Distress spray in abandoned coral and Mr Huey's Sea Foam spray. The stencil was reversed chicken wire from TCW.

Fabulous and Priceless

A layout of my niece, the colours reflect her bright bubbly nature and her crazy fun personality. Lots of texture created with modelling paste coloured with Stampin UP calypso coral ink refill. Lots of splattering with Navy, coral, blush, rose, mint and gold Heidi Swapp color shine. The quote was from a cut apart sheet in the collection and was perfect for my niece as she has just graduated from her performing arts degree and loves nothing better than playing a character

Awesome

A layout of my neffypoo .smile emoticonHe's completely different from his sister, much more chilled out and laid back. I added in some project life cards from Kaisercraft bluebay collection to bring in more navy and aqua.  The title was cut on the Cameo from watercolour paper and coloured with mint and navy Heidi Swapp colour Shine and I splattered the page using the same colours.

Beautiful Dreamer

My gorgeous youngest niece, I wanted to convey the day dreamy side of her nature, she is very much like me and I wanted to keep the layers soft and pretty so added vellum and tissue paper, I think this has to be one of my favourite pages.  Some of the flowers are part of the Free Spirit collection, I also added in some Bobunny crochet flowers too and a Dear Lizzy tassel, lots of different texture and dimension on this page.

Thanks for stopping by

Christmas Projects

Hi, well it's been a while, so much exciting stuff going on in my life that I haven't had much time for posting or creating stuff outside of work.

Firstly I want to say
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

So what have I been up to, well I now work for and with the lovely and very talented Stephanie Weightman, I'm also lucky enough to get to work with the equally lovely and talented Nancy Watt and Diane Peternel.  I am now a creative sample designer for Craft Channel Productions and so far I'm loving it.  I don't get to post my samples and projects as they tend to be for the magazine so obviously that would defeat the object of the magazine if I posted them on here lol!  I have very little time that I can call my own at the minute but I am determined to be more organised this year so, new year, new resolutions lol!

So my plan is to do something for myself at least once a week, and as I tend to be making cards all the time for work, I thought it was about time I dusted off all the scrapbook supplies I've been hoarding for so log and actually get my thousands of photos scrapped!

Other goals I want to achieve this year
Lose weight
Get healthier
Get the house better organised
And the biggy!!!  Learn to DRIVE!!!

So onto the crafty stuff!

Here are just a few projects from Christmas, I didn't actually make many cards this year and had to buy some!  SHOCK! HORROR! LOL!

My hubby's Christmas card
Digi stamp is by http://www.kennykdownloads.com/ Coloured with Promarkers. Glossy Accents on the gloves and boots. Shaker frame cut on the Silhouette. Stamped inside with a sentiment from Beecrafty.co.uk and it says "If you're not under my tree Christmas morning I'm going back to bed."

Christmas card for a relative. Vintage Santa stamp is by Beecrafty.co.uk Coloured with distress pens an white prisma pencil. Lots of distressing and inking. The edges where inked with Buff It mixed with water an dribbled around the edges.

Light box
The cut file was from the Silhouette store, cut from plain and glitter vinyl.  The inside of the glass was covered with some frosted vinyl but it didn't hide the lights enough so I added a layer of vellum too.  Lights were just some cheap LED battery operated ones from The Range and the frame was from the range too.

My first scrapbook page in a while, this is our Christmas picture this year, splashed with Dylusions inks in Grass, Cherry Pie and White plus some Distress Stain in Pewter. Papers are from an old stack.  I also used washi tape, felt alphas, wooden gingerbread man, a cute lollypop button, twine and a metal snowflake charm, most of which I bought at Hobbycraft.  Stamp sets are by Docrafts and Hero Arts.

My attempt at being organised and actually making a Christmas mini album.  It worked, my album is finished and all the photos are in :)  More on that later.
Ok, that's all for now

Tattered Lace Blog Challenge Inspiration Holiday/Vacation Theme

Tattered Lace Blog Challenge Inspiration Holiday/Vacation Theme

Well I can't believe that September has come around so quickly, here we are again and it's time for a new Tattered Lace blog challenge.  This months challenge is to create something with holidays/vacations in mind, anything goes as long as you have used a Tattered Lace die on the project.  Go check out the challenge there is a bundle of Tattered Lace Embossing folders this month.

My project was a scrapbook page, I love scrapbooking but don't get much time to do it.  I always pick up souvenirs when we go out walking, we spend most of our holidays in the Lake District, it's our favourite place.  Our holidays are of a much muddier kind than most peoples and we love nothing better than getting up in to the fells and mountains but sometimes the weather thwarts us, this was one of those times.

The photos on the layout are from our holiday last September, it was so windy and wet the mountain rescue teams were warning people to not climb the higher fells so we spent the week exploring the area around Eskdale, the photos where taken by the Stanley Ghyll waterfall.  The walk took us along the banks of the river Esk and although it poured with rain all day, we had a wonderful time.  Because of the rain, the river was in spate and the waterfall was spectacular, we walked deeper and deeper into the gorge towards the waterfall and it felt like we were going back in time, it felt like a lost world.  I wanted to capture the muddiness and the autumnal feel with this page and so used lots of distress ink.

I started with a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock from Tim Holtz Kraft Core using the kraft coloured side for the page and peeled paint for the photo mats, I cut two frames using the TL Bloomsbury frame in pumpkin American crafts card stock and used these to frame the photos.  I distressed the page using some Mr Huey's colour mists in manilla, sunset, warm and dark calico and Tattered Angels creme de chocolat.

I stamped leaves randomly all over the page in vintage photo and gathered twigs.  The letters were cut using the Cricut and the Autumn word was distressed with more colour mists in sunset, Tattered Angels peach and candy apple, then I gave it a coating of distress crackle rock candy and when it had dried I inked it with walnut stain distress ink to darken the cracks.

The Dragonflies were cut from TL dragonfly die in black card stock, I then inked them with Adirondack alcohol inks in gold and copper.  I tapped the dragonflies with a versamark pad and sprinkled over some blond moments savoury tropical green embossing powder, brushing off some areas so the copper and gold show through.

The oak leaves were picked up on the walk and I dried them out and gave them a coat of glue and seal, when they were dry I brushed over them with a clear wink of stellar pen.  I die cut some leaves from the Lavish Blooms leaves to finish the page off.

Scrapbook Pages and Valentines

Forgot to post these last month.

Firstly a double scrap book page, I kind of made a resolution this year to do at least one scrapbook page a month, so this was last months.  We went for a walk in the Peak District, it was freezing cold and the ground was frozen solid, the wind was blowing the rain horizontal and we were walking in the clouds!  But!  We had a fantastic time, the Peak National Park is one of my favourite places.  I used the Cricut cart Camp Out, SU and AC cardstock and SU skeleton Leaf stamps.  I used distress inks to add texture and some See D's texture stamps.  I did a little journalling on the computer and printed it out.

Here's the gift and card I made for my OH for valentines.  The mug was made using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  The cute little monkey was cut from Create a Critter.  The Card was made in Cricut Craft Room from the Love You A Latte  cart, I weld 2 shapes together to make the card, added the sentiment and stamped with coffee beans from a Fiskars stamp set.

Hi crafty friends, well we seem to have a bit of a holiday themed update today :)

Halloween Candle

Supplies
Candle
Inkadinkado Stamp set: creepy Crawley #98303
Black organza ribbon
Adirondack Black archival ink
Stampendous Disco Black embossing powder
White tissue paper

I actually decorated this candle a few weeks ago but never got around to taking any photos, so as I was testing out my new light box I thought I'd take a few.

So this was a cheap candle from Wilkinsons, I stamped the bat on to white tissue paper with black archival ink and embossed using disco black embossing powder.  I then cut out the bat roughly and used some pritt stick to temporarily hold it down while I used my heat gun to gently warm the wax so the tissue 'disappears' into the wax.  I just finished the candle with some black organza ribbon.

Flower/Ribbon Embellishment

Supplies
1 yd white seam binding
1 yd 1/8 peach organza ribbon
1yd white lace
8in gold bead trim
large pearl for centre

Here's a lovely flower/ribbon embellishment I made following this tutorial by cynthialoowho, I didn't have tulle so I used some seam binding, lace and some organza ribbon.  I didn't wrap the bead trim around as I couldn't get it to look right so I cut about 8 inches in to 4 pieces and hot glued them to the back of the flower, I added a large pearl to the centre. I love how this came out, it's so pretty :)

Christmas Candles Scrapbook Page

Supplies
1 sheet of 12 x 12 patterned paper
Cream, red, light green, dark green and yellow card stock
Ribbon from stash
Glossy accents
Stickles
Distress markers
Distress inks, Festive berry, peeled paint, antique linen

This was made using the new Cricut cartridge A Quilted Christmas, as soon as I saw it I knew I NEEDED it lol!  This is the project that is at the front of the handbook that comes with the cartridge, I have to say I'm loving the new style of handbooks, much easier to find things.  I am going to be making a lot of projects with this I can tell you, I'm also thinking of making a quick video review of the cart for my Youtube channel, so keep your eyes peeled for that :)

Anyhoo, that's all for today

Hi, well I kind of lost my mojo over the last few months and haven't done much crafting.  I've been feeling a bit down and the house is a mess, plus I'm working more hours and between that and the fibro I'm constantly exhausted and in pain.

A card for my Mum-in-law, I love how this turned out :)

Just a silly card I made to try out my new Robotz cart, which I got on Ebay for a bargain price :D

This is the first scrap book page for a new project, I've been meaning to make a scrapbook of our visit to London a few years ago and want to do sections on the Natural History museum, the British Museum and the Science museum, yes we did 3 museums in 3 days lol!  I am mad about dinosaurs so was thrilled to go to the Natural History museum.  I got the dinosaur tracks cart especially for the scrapbook as I took loads of pictures of all the dinos lol!  I've even made up a list of all the dinos on the cart and prited them out ready to label all my photos lol!  I know! I know!  A grown woman getting over excited about a lot of old bones lol!  Sad really isn't it :D

A quick project the other day to cheer myself up, I finally got around to blinging up my expression :D

A quick birthday card made with the sweet treats cart.

Lots of flowers I made yesterday, I was very tired and I've been poorly the last couple of days so I just wanted something to keep my hands busy while I watched tutorials on youtube :)

All cut from the flower shoppe and mother's day bouquet carts.

Well that's me all caught up, having a bit of a rest today, although I did go out and try to cut the hedge a bit earlier, shattered now though so won't be doing much else today.

Happy crafting
