March Cards

Hiya, happy Spring, hope you are enjoying the sunshine. The weather is chilly and very breezy but sunny this morning and as I have the day off I'm going to enjoy it :)

I've added a link in my blogs I follow section to Valitas blog, she is a Stampin Up demonstrator and a fabulously creative person. I have been watching her videos on You Tube for a while now and love how inventive she is, go check out her blog, she does the most amazing things with punches :)

Well I have failed miserably in keeping my blog up to date again, I've been so busy with work and home I just haven't had any time to do anything for myself lol! I will be glad when all the decorating and mess is over :)

Just a few cards for this month, trying to use up some old stash, so I have Mother's day cards made from some old K&Co papers, more flowers, a boys BD card, a couple of new baby cards and a couple of cards made using the Hunkydory Flutterby kit. Hope you like them :)

Sorry about the awful quality of the photos, one day I might eventually get a proper photo corner set up lol!

First card is a commissioned card for a work colleague, this is for her 2nd grandson who was born on Monday :) She was thrilled to bits with it and said she couldn't wait to give it to her daughter.

The images are from The Clip Art Fairy and are on the The Book a Easel & Plaques CD. The welcome baby stamp is from the Punch Bunch Stampin up set, the little hands, duck and bottles are from an old set and I can't remember who it was made by. The sentiment was cut using the Nursery Rhymes cart for the Cricut.

The card is and easel card with a mini book on the base, there is an area for a hand written message, a page for putting the baby's details and then at the back a photo frame to put a piccy in :) The box uses the same sentiment as the card.

Another commissioned card, it must be the season for babies as the lady I made this for was also due to have a baby too :) This was for her sister-in-law who had a gorgeous baby girl :)

Also commissioned, two Mother's day cards for the same lady, both using Hunkydory products, the insides were done in MCS to match.

Cards for my Mum, Step Mum and Mum in law for Mother's day, the gift bags are so easy to make and look beautiful. K&Co papers were used, the images were stamped with memento inks and then just highlighted with a touch of chalk. Link for the tutorial for the bag is by WunsaponaTime

Some more flowers I made, the tutorials for these can be found on Jannavile's channel on You Tube

When I said a few cards I actually meant quite a few lol! I just found some more photos on my phone, although I am missing a photo of a card I made for a work colleague son for his 40th, quite disappointed I didn't take a photo as I was quite pleased with the finished card.

Two more commissioned cards, one using Joanna Sheens, Oriental Treasures CD and the other using a kit from the internet, I can't remember where I got it so will have to have a dig through my files :)

This weeks cards...

... so far lol! I have more cards for customers to do but also had to get some birthday cards done as they had to be sent to Canada :)

We've had a pretty crappy few weeks as my Mum-in-Law was taken ill a couple of weeks ago and rushed into hospital, we thought we we going to lose her but happily she has pulled through and came home this week :)

My hubby has been staying with her and it's going to be a few months before she is back to her old self as she has to have a heart op in about 6 weeks, but hopefully everything is going ok and there will be no problems.

I have had a week at home this week and decided to make something for myself, which is pretty rare, I tend to make things to give away lol! I am making my first ever mini album. The theme is steampunk/vintage and will eventually hold some of the photos we took when we visited the science museum in London a couple of years ago.

I will post some pics of my progress in the next couple of days, had a really productive day in the garden, cleaning the greenhouse and tidying the flower beds while hubby dug over the veggy patch so haven't had chance to take any pics yet.

One of the reasons for making the mini album was because I had made a list of all the crafty things I wanted to learn this year. Stamping and distressing were at the top of the list so the album is a way to learn loads of new things, that's my excuse anyhoo and I'm sticking to it lol!

Lastly here are this weeks cards :)

Birthday card for my Sister-in-law, this was made using the CindyLoo cart for the Cricut, I used the border function and fit to page. Used Core'dinations cardstock and stamped inside using a Stampin Up stamp from the Bliss set.

A Happy Spring card for My SIL & Family, just to say hi and looking forward to them coming over for a visit :) Messy Rabbit & bee stamps from Joanna Sheen, stamped using Memento rich cocoa and then coloured with Promarkers. Card stock is Cord'inations. I can't remember the make of the happy spring sentiment, it was from a huge set I bought years ago from Argos and is an unmounted purple rubber stamp.

Another card for the SIL, this was from my Mum-in-law, made using the Flutterby Wishes Hunkydory kit.

Another Cricut card, the IPod and Kitty were cut form the Rock Princess cart, the sentiment is from the Stampin Up setPunch Bunch and mounted on a mat cut with a nestability scalloped square, again Cor'dinations cardstock was used.

Happy crafting till next time :)

New Cricut cart arrived :)

Woop! My new cartridge, Rock Princess, arrived yesterday and as luck would have it it was my day off :) Anyhoo, even though I was supposed to be making cards for customers I couldn't resist playing lol!!

This cartridge is awesome, I can see it getting used a lot, there are loads of great images. There are some great things that could be used for guy cards too and some lovely roses which are suitable for any type of card. Well worth investing in I think.

My other favourite cartridge is Tie The Knot, predominantly wedding themed but could be used for all types of occasion, very versatile and beautiful images.

Here's what I made yesterday :)

Used the Rock Princess Cricut cart. Used Core'dinations & also Stampin Up card stock. Ribbon is Anita's. Digi stamp is by Kenny K and coloured with Promarkers and then sprayed with Crafters Companion Spray & Shine.

Used the Rock Princess Cricut cart. Used Core'dinations Black Magic cauldron stack & also Papermainia card stock and a bit of C&C glitter card, ribbon from HobbyCraft.

Used the Rock Princess Cricut cart, it's not just for girls lol!! Used Core'dinations nostalgia & gemstones & also Papermainia card stock. Stamped the background and the tag on the candy box :)

Used Core'dinations Gemstones & Black Magic Cauldron. Digi stamp is by Kenny K and coloured with Promarkers and then sprayed with Crafters Companion Spray & Shine. Tag stamped and distressed, not sure where I got the ribbon :)

Commissioned card wedding card. Toppers cut from the Tie The Knot cart, used Crafters Companion Centura pearl cardstock and C&C glitter card and mirri board, ribbon and pearls from HobbyCraft.
