Beautiful Tattered lace Venetian Collection

Hi, here are the samples I made for this weeks Tattered Lace new releases, the Venetian Collection plus the gorgeous rose from the new Tattered lace mag.

Really beautiful dies again, loving the church, roses and basket especially.  I really felt like getting messy this week so out came my sprays and inks :)  My Silhouette is now speckled red lol!  Hopefully it wipes off!

Church Scene
With this first card I really wanted to use the fern frame as a stencil to make a cloudy sky, the shape really calls out to be used like this so I traced it as I wanted it larger than it would have cut out and then cut the shape by hand, I then used the actual die as a stencil and softly inked the card with an ink duster and blue jeans distress ink to add some cloud shapes.  The church was coloured with Promarkers and embossed with clear embossing powder and backed with some more card coloured with a lighter grey to make it more solid.  I just finished the scene using straight swag and the inner parts of the fern in the Venetian floral.

Victorian Roses
I really loved the shape of the swags and when I started playing with the shapes I really felt I wanted to do something Victorian in style, I've used shades of soft dusky rose for this card and although it took a while to get it how I liked it, I was very happy with the end result.  The swags are embossed with gold embossing powder and the rose and ivy were coloured with Promarkers and then embossed with holographic embossing powder to give them some sparkle.  The  3d rose and small blossoms were coloured with the same Promarkers and the background was coloured with an ivory Promarker to add some texture and then inked with distress inks.  The gold mat was just a piece of card edged with a versamark pad and then covered with melt dust embossing powder in gold sparkle.  The ribbon was also coloured with a Promarker to tie it all together.  The shaped panel was made in Silhouette Studio and then cut on the Cameo.

Masked Ombre
So I was saying I felt like getting messy, well I certainly managed to make a mess with this card lol!  I used the Venetian Florals to mask areas of the card and sprayed red, orange and  yellow inks on to the card at an angle to get an ombre look.  I then used the pieces I had used for masking to fill up the rest of the card.  The flowery border was made with the Bloomsbury panel which I extended by placing the edge of the die over hanging the edge of the cutting plates so it wouldn't cut right to the edge, I repeated this again so I had one long border.

Spring Basket
Finally a double easel card, I used the silhouette to make the card base, I filled the pretty basket die with lots of flowers from various sets.  The basket was a laser cut as the dies hadn't arrived so I was sent a few laser cuts, I coloured it with Promarkers and as I had some left over leaves in white on my desk I coloured them with a Promarker rather than cutting another piece of card stock.

Hidden Surprises Tattered Lace Samples

Hiya, today's post is more samples for Tattered Lace, Hidden Surprises Collection, I'm having so much fun being on the sample team for Tattered Lace and My Craft Studio and getting such a buzz out of seeing my samples on TV :)  So exciting!

Again these dies are so stunning, I was a bit busy with hospital and docs appointments as well as shift changes last week so only manage nine samples but could have go on to make more if I had had the time.

I also received my Silhouette Cameo last week, and lucky I had booked a week off work :D  I've been having so much fun using it, I really wish I had bought one earlier!

So here are the samples, I noticed on the show that I have a very different style of card making to the other sample makers which makes me wonder if what I'm making is ok or not lol!  I suppose they wouldn't ask me to make more if it was a problem, but that's what you get for having an inferiority complex lol!

Adorable Bunny Bears!!

Spring is in the air, at least in my imagination, it's freezing here and snowy.  Although the sun was out for a few minutes earlier, which I enjoyed while making a cup of tea :)

How adorable are these, I've gone bear crazy the last few days and cut a ton of teddies from the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge.  I couldn't help making a series of cards with these bunny bears :) The other carts used were mother's day bouquet for the flowers and just because cards for the flower stem. The little butterfly, ladybird (stamped inside, which I forgot to photograph lol!) and sentiment are from Studio G designer clear stamps by Alison Wong and coloured with promarkers.  Card stock is American crafts from the spring and pastels collections.

Happy Crafting and I hope it's warmer and sunnier where you are!

BTW!  The dynamic blog was driving me crazy, it was too slow and clunky on my puter so I changed it again lol!

My First Tutorial... A quick easter chick using the Stampin Up 2 step owl punch

Good Morning, today I'm posting my first tutorial using the 2 step owl punch from Stampin Up. I haven't seen another tut for a chick so hopefully I'm not duplicating someone else's idea.

Here's a finished card using my chickies, I think they're fun and just a bit silly, sure to bring a smile :)

Lets get started :)

Supplies:-
Scraps of yellow, orange, pale yellow, white, black and pale peach light card stock
Scissors
Adhesive (I used Anita's tacky glue and a Sakura quickie glue pen)
Ink pads (I used Colorbox chalk petal pads in tangerine and yellow citrus for the chick and Stampin up cake crumb for the egg
Sponge

1. Cut 4 owls, 2 in yellow and 2 in orange, 2 chest pieces in pale yellow, 1 of the small circles in yellow, 2 small circles in white, 1 heart in orange and 2 tiny circles in black (alternatively you could draw these on using a black pen)

2. Cut the feet off the yellow owls and sponge the edges

3. Glue the yellow owls over the orange base

4. Cut of the owls ears, rounding of the corners so you get a nice shape and then touch up the sponged areas

5. Do this to both sets and sponge the small yellow circle with the orange ink

6. Next sponge the 2 chest pieces with the yellow ink and glue to the main body of the chick

7. Cut the small yellow circle in half, sponge the cut edge and assemble the eyes

8. Glue the eyes just above the chest and then glue the beak (orange heart) in place, overlapping the eyes slightly

9. For the egg you need a scrap of pale peach card stock, punch an owl from a piece of copier paper.

Cut off the feet and the use to draw a rough template for the bottom half of the egg. It needs to be a couple of mm wider than the actual chick.

Then draw a rough line to join the two sides of the egg together and cut out

10. Sponge the edges of the egg with your brown ink pad

11. Glue the egg on to the chick with no face

And there you have your two chickies ready to decorate your card, I made several and chnged the position of the eyes to get different expressions.

Hope you enjoyed my first tutorial,
Happy Crafting

Loads of new cards

Loads of cards today, haven't had much time to add anything over the last month so I'm chucking everything in one post lol!!

Some very quick thank you note-lets made using Core'dinations card stock, scraps for mats and some new stamps I bought from HobbyCraft by Studio G, they are so cute and only cost 99p each :) Got a bit carried away and made loads lol!!

Commissioned Easter cards, the crosses are my own design, I drew the cross in Inkscape, saved as an SVG file and then used Sure Cuts Alot 2 to cut the files on my Cricut, love how they turned out, although I would probably have left off the sentiment if they were for me lol!! Butterfly and swirl from Tie the Knot cart.

Samples for Hunkydorys new kit Flutterby Wishes, beautiful kit

Valentines cards, made for a customer, she asked for cherubs. Tags cut on Cricut from Tie the Knot cart, Matts & hearts from Cindy Loo cart, Cherubs from JS Victorian Angels & Fairies

Anyhoo that's all for today, will have to make more of an effort to post on her.
